1965 was a very formative year for the Corvette. It was the first year for the Big Block engine; hood louvers were replaced with a more aggressive extended scoop treatment; Side louvers on the fenders became functional; the fuel injection option was scrapped in favor of a Holley 4-bbl carburetor at mid-year, and Disc Brakes became available for the first time.
This particular Corvette went through a thorough restoration but when the engine was rebuilt the machine shop mistakenly milled off the original engine numbers! All of the casting numbers remain intact – and original – and the Corvette runs like a champ!
Originally produced in May of 1965, the engine is well documented with original, factory paperwork.
